Klimt was born 1862 and died 1918 (of the flu age 55) in Vienna, a member of the Vienna Seccession, inspired by Byzantium with his Gold paintings. Famous for
The Kiss, Judith (Belvedere, Vienna) and
Portrait of Adele Block-Bauer (Neue Galerie, NYC). Painted Burgtheatre, and ceilings of the Great Hall of the University of Vienna (latter destroyed in 1945), including
Medicine, Philosophy and Jurisprudence.
